AFPS designed and constructed a cone fishway on the Flinders River at the Floraville Road crossing in the remote Gulf of Carpentaria. The fishway provided passage past the existing road causeway and culverts and was packaged within the strict footprint limitations of the site. While the fishway was restricted to low flow operation it has seen significant passage results, with up to 20,000 fish being recorded moving through the fishway during a flow event in June 2011. This fishway required significant logistical organisation due to it remote location, with AFPS successfully organising the movement of materials to site and the construction of the fishway.
