Kbal Hong Cone Fishway 2019

AFPS provided design, construction supervision and monitoring supervision to the Cambodian Inland Fisheries Service and Pursat Province Irrigation to successfully undertake the construction and monitoring of the Cone fishway on the Kbal Hong Weir on the Stung Pursat in central Cambodia. A simple and effective fishway design was required to fit the strict budget requirements of the project. It was determined that a cone fishway was the best option as the design could pass the wide range of fish species available and was cost effective to construct. In the first 14 days of monitoring over 36,000 fish of 61 species utilised the fishway, demonstrating the success of the design at this site.
