AFPS provided design and construction supervision to the Glenelg Hopkin CMA to successfully undertake the construction the rock ramp fishway on a farmers crossing of the Glenelg River, near Casterton in western Victoria. The full width rock ramp fishway was redesigned to cater for the complexities of the rock and log crossing upstream, with a new design that did not interfere with the crossing and reduced bank erosion produced. The 70m long 24 ridge design was completed in 3 weeks and commissioned throughout construction. Initial sampling in the fishway at completion indicated that fish were already using the structure. This is one of several fishways that AFPS has undertaken in western Victoria, highlighting the positive experience clients have received.
